Autumn Harvest
21" x 12.5" oil on linen
Price: $1250
A few weeks after I met my life-long sweetheart, she asked me to go with her to her parent's home and farm in the hills of Idaho.  I was, and still am, impressed with what I feel is the most noble of professions.  Great character is hewn from the hard work and trials of the farming and ranching industry.

This painting and many others reflect my reverence for the great farmlands of our nation.  If you want virtue, this is where you will find it.
A few weeks after I met my life-long sweetheart, she took me to meet her parents on their small dry farm in Idaho.

They and their neighbors were and are some of the most genuine and cordial people I have ever met.  Farming, I believe is the most noble of professions.  Great character is hewn out of the hard work and trials of the day by day toil of farmers and ranchers and their families.

This painting (and many others) is a reflection of my reverence for the farms and farmlands of this great nation.
I have, several times, been asked if a painting was a 3-D picture, and thought it quite peculiar since I lost my depth perception in an eye operation that went badly.  I still can use both eyes but only one at a time.  It may be then, in regaining my feeling of depth, I began to put the same methods of “gaging”, that work for me, into my paintings, so that they appear to me, and also to others, to be three dimensional. Careful attention to the known principles of perspective, linear and aerial, are the basis, but perceivable detail and the feeling of being surrounded by the environs of the scene are the illusive final touch.
A Note on Perspective
A landscape or wildlife painting, to be believable, must be accurate in its presentation even to the casual observer, but especially to those whose professions and hearts belong to the subject.  But more than that, I want to convey my reverence and inspire others to see the beauty that moves me to the scene.
